Dumb article by Green on 12/27/07 05:28 PM Message # 8235
This article is dumb. "Its dead but not extinct": This statement which is the theme of this article contradicts itself. In essence, ASP is dying and sinking. Jump ship because you do not want to be laid off when your company moves to a better framework like .NET or language like JAVA nor do you want to be stuck with a low pay job nursing an unsupported tool. Period. Forget what this article is saying if you want to earn a reasonable living. Learn a hot language like .NET that is supported, evolving and is here to stay for a while and forget the linguist and philosophy that distracts your career development.
ASP: The Beauty of a Dead Language by Dee on 9/22/07 12:50 PM Message # 8220
Actually there is an easy way to extend Classic ASP, use windows script components. These can also be accessed by ASP.net which means your code never goes stale.
Dim fileName As String = "\wsc\Util.wsc"
Dim WSCPath As String = "script:" & server.mapPath("\") & fileName
Dim oWSCRS As Object = Marshal.BindToMoniker(WSCPath)
