a good base to start a search in php and mysql database but....
//store record id of every item that contains the keyword in the array we need to do this to avoid display of duplicate search result.
....
$adid_array[] = $row[ 'fieldid' ];
Why not just perform the query with a "GROUP BY fieldid" so then you don't need to store everything in an array and check for repeated results...
Multi Keyword PHP MySQL Search Engine Script by Jerry Collins on 1/24/07 08:43 PM Message # 8174
Hey there,
Great tutorial article, however, your script seems to be rigid in searching only single search keywords.
There's a script I found at:
http://www.addedworth.com/welcome/MySearchParser.php
that allows AND, OR, NOT and Phrase Searches with search term highlighting too.
I think that's a much better way of performing a database search.
